Home to ‘The Kingpin Ques’
May 14th, 1946, Sigma Iota became the first chapter of Omega Psi Phi chartered in the 12th District. Sigma Iota served as the stopping ground for many Omega Men being discharged after World War II in the Greater Bay Area. The Kingpins are the only chapter west of the Colorado Rockies with a fraternity house and stands as one of the largest chapters in the 12th District and Northern California.
Mentorship
Sigma Iota Chapter delivers an immersive mentoring program designed around the fraternity’s Cardinal Principles (Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance, and Uplift). Teaching and encouraging African-American males to positively define, plan, pursue and achieve their future.
Scholarship
Since 2008, Sigma Iota Chapter has successfully raised nearly $225,000 in funding, helping them to award over 200 academic scholarships for young men and women throughout Bay Area communities.
Friendship
Brothers we champion the concerted effort at the international, district and local levels to retain active brothers and return inactive brothers to full participatory status. We are excited to provide additional tools and resources for you to use to engage the Brotherhood and make Omega better for all of us.
Uplift
For over 76 years Sigma Iota Chapter has been a beacon of light in providing service to the community through its many programs and activities.
