Re: 2026 Scholarship Opportunities ($2000.00)
The Sigma Iota Chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. offers financial support to targeted African-American high school seniors who plan to continue their education at a four (4) year college or university. Since the inception of our organization Omega men have epitomized the meaning behind the phrase “academic excellence”.
Eligibility:
- African-American graduating high school students (Class of 2026) who are enrolled in a four (4) year program at a college or university for the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters.
- Alameda or Contra Costa County Resident
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 Scale
- Active in Community Service Initiatives
- Meets the Criteria set forth by all four Cardinal Principles:
- Manhood/Womanhood-Having a sense of responsibility and humane qualities.
- Scholarship-Ability to show quality performance inside as well as outside the classroom.
- Perseverance-The ability to start a task and finish it despite difficulties.
- Uplift- The ability to elevate or raise those around you.
Successful applicants will be notified by mail and/or email no later than March 31, 2025. Awards winners will be announced and introduced at the annual Sigma Iota Chapter Scholarship Banquet ceremony (date tbd) and the SF Bay Area Pan Hellenic Council Reception (Date TBD).
Upon official confirmation of school enrollment and attendance for the Fall 2026 semester, recipients will receive payment of scholarship award.
DEADLINE
The application and required documents must be postmarked/submitted online by April 1, 2026.
